Hair Removal Chat is to provide
Hair Removal information from people who actually what hair removal or have tested certain products. I haven't put the forum into full effect yet, so that everyone could post and reply, but I have been getting a lot of emails into
Hair Removal Chat.
Someone asked about No Scream Cream. I searched Google for a while until I found a good discussion about No Scream Cream at WaxWaxWax.com, it might be a little outdated but it might help some people.

I saw this stuff mentioned/advertised on this site a few days ago. Now that I've decided I'd like to order some, I can't find it on here anymore!
Has anyone tried it? Does it really work? Is it worth the money (I think it was like $20 after s&h) or should I just save myself the money and trouble of ordering it and forget it?
If it is good, then how can I order it? I got my first wax recently and loved the results so much that I plan to continue regularly, but it hurt like hell! So any magic potion I can get my hands on would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
The No Scream Cream does work and is worth the cost. The first time I got waxed I did not apply it long enough before I got waxed. (30-45 min before) The second time I used it properly and it really did help.

Thanks to you both for the info. Like I said, I loved the results of the wax, but the pain factor already has me anxious about my next appointment. I will definitely order some.

Does anyone know where you can get it in Canada? I have been trying to order it from the states for awhile and no luck as no one will ship to Canada.
I haven't come across this particular brand in Canada. I know West Coast Beauty supply and Monarch carry some topical numbing agents. But you can get Emla cream over the counter at your local drugstore.

Although I do not live in Canada I am familiar with Emla creme. It's a numbing creme with Lidocaine as the active ingredient. I believe there are a couple of different percentages you can get... It will certainly do the trick if you're looking for something topical.

Wow - you can get Emla cream over the counter in the States........
In the UK Emla cream, a powerful aneasthetic, can only be prescribed and then administered under the direction of a Doctor, GP or Physician. Laser Hair Removal Clinics with an RMO, Physician or Doctor on site can and do prescibe this for some people. There have been cases of "careless" use that has resulted in death. Large areas of skin that need treating are smothered in the stuff and wrapped in cling film for an hour or so. It deadens the skin completely for up to 4 hours. There was a case in Florida a couple of years ago (and there have been others) where a lady was told to self apply in preparation for her laser session. She did as she was told but didn't live to find out whether her hard earned cash would have resulted in permanent hair removal. The Emla cream seeped in through the skin into her bloodstream, lowered her blood pressure and resulted in cardiac failure.

In canada, it is a low amount of lidocaine, and is asked for in the pharmacy. In small amounts, and on small areas it is safe. For example, someone coming in for a brazillian wax would only need to apply it 5 minutes before their appointment. I've used it before..on my self...and it doesn't completely numb. I personally don't recommend it to my clients because I have found it makes the skin very heat sensitive. I do know people that have used it before piercings.
